Sodium Alginate

Alginates are used in welding electrodes as critical components in the flux coating, primarily acting as binders, plasticizers, and stabilizers. Extracted from brown algae, these natural polysaccharides improve the extrusion process, increase the plasticity of the coating, and stabilize the arc during welding. Typically, welding-grade alginate is ground to a fine powder (150-200 mesh).
